Impermanence is simultaneously one of the facets of life to which we are most often exposed, and also one of the most difficult to master. Photography is a way to take fleeting moments and turn them into something indelible, something that can remain even through life’s maelstrom.
Impermanence has long been a part of my life; by the age of 10 I was moving to my sixth different state, preparing once again to restart life in a new place. I believe that experience instilled within me a deep and vast appreciation of the present moment, because the future was always a mystery.
Photography is a way for me to explore permanence, a concept I have always found to be perplexing and mystifying.
